Please check your child's agenda for permission slips.  Please make sure that you have skates and a helmet that fit, as our first skating day is this Friday!  We do require parent drivers.  Please let us know if you can help out.   Children who continue to require booster seats must bring theirs in for Friday for safety reasons.

Pizza lunch is being offered for this FRIDAY.  Students wishing to order MUST have their orders in by tomorrow morning.

Popcorn Day
Our first popcorn day will happen this Wednesday.  Students wishing to order  should bring $1 for Wednesday morning.  Orders will be delivered for Recess.

Scholastic Book Orders
We received our October orders.  2 students continue to wait for back ordered materials.  These books will be given out as soon as they arrive.  November book orders should be coming home.  If you would like to have items for gifts, please let me know so that I can support your holiday shopping.  Orders are due next Wednesday, November 13.

Math Groups
A huge thank you to Mrs. Corsi, Mrs. Rinaldi, and Mrs. Sczebel  for helping the class with math groups today!  We really enjoy the time you spend with us.  Thank you for choosing to come in!

Remembrance Day Assembly
This Friday we will celebrate Remembrance Day with a school-wide assembly that commences at 9 am.  Students participating in service groups are encouraged to wear their uniforms (Scouts/Girl Guides, Brownies, Cadets, etc.).  We hope that you can make it.

Skating season is just around the corner!  We will be sending home permission slips shortly, as our class will have our first ice skating session at the beginning of November.  Please remember that all students require a helmet and ice skates in order to participate!  (If you have a helmet and skates or are borrowing some from a friend, please try them on now to ensure that they still fit!  The school has a limited supply of ice skates if you are unable to find a pair to use - please let us know in advance if you will need to borrow school ice skates.)

AXIS THEATRE
Axis Theatre will be visiting our school on the afternoon of Thursday, October 31st!  We are looking forward to an exciting performance of Raven and the Monkey King!

Today we visited a math website that assists with practice of math skills.  Our focus was on addition facts today.  If your family has time, please ask your child to show you how this site works.  This site gives you and your child instant feedback on their accuracy as well as ability to recall facts in good speed.

Many students were quite excited to hear that one of Canada's amazing astronauts, Chris Hadfield, will be at the Grand Hall at Thompson Rivers University this Friday, October 4th, at 7 p.m. for a free lecture!  The presentation will also be provided by videolink at The Big Little Science Centre, where doors open at 6:15 p.m.  (I promised to pass along information about this event in case there are any families interested in attending!)
