2. Music - Practice Songs!! Focus on 4 performance songs - especially 52-53; Instruments & Books for Monday = last 'group' practice before performance
3. Show Parents Term Overview 

Thursday Assembly
Many families have been asking about the performance time for Thursday, December 15th.  The performance will start at 1:15 pm.  Students and families will 'load the gym starting shortly after 1:00 pm attendance.  Come early if you'd like a 'good' seat!

Happy Birthday!
Today Hannah celebrates her 9th birthday.  We wish you a wonderful year, Hannah!

A HUGE Thank You, to Mrs. Mountfort!  We appreciated your time today.  We appreciated your helping us bake bread.  Thank you for choosing to spend your morning with us.

Sarah Plain and Tall Novel
Today, as part of our novel study, we baked bread, made butter and ice cream using traditional churns.  It was a lovely way to end our novel study.  I appreciated all of effort students put towards making our day such a success.  Many students have asked about the recipe for the Ice Cream and Bread.  I have included them below, if you're interested in making them at home.

ICE CREAM
2 cups whipping cream
2 cups whole milk
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract


2 HOUR BREAD - 2 loaves
1. Mix in a bowl
3 cups warm water
3 tbsp yeast
-let sit until yeast starts to bubble
2. Add
1/3 cup honey or molasses
3 tbsp oil or margarine
4 cups whole wheat flour
1 tbsp salt (may be omitted)
3. Work in
2 - 2 1/2 cups flour
4. Knead
for 10 minutes
5. Place in a greased bowl, cover and let rest in warm place for 10 minutes
6. Knead
again for 10 minutes
7. Place in 2 well greased loaf pans.  Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
8. Bake
375 degrees Fahrenheit for 40-50 minutes (less if making rolls)
